Adobe is looking to be the go-to resource for gaming with updated versions of Flash Player and AIR, which now support 3D gaming and boast big performance improvements. It will let developers to use Flash, Actionscript, JavaScript, and other technologies to create what are essentially console-quality 2D and 3D games for the web, Internet to PCs, even iOS and many other devices. Flash Player 11 and AIR 3, which will be available in early October, will be 3D-enabled for the first time, and will offer 1,000 times faster graphics rendering performance through hardware acceleration.

It is necessary that you can take Flash and Air as a bundle, because, in Adobe’s own words Air is, a superset of Flash.

Flash Player 11 and Air 3 offer full hardware-accelerated rendering for 2D and 3D graphics through Stage 3D, a new method and model of 2D and 3D rendering.

Moreover, new features in Flash Player 11 and Air 3 are digital rights management (DRM) and 1080p HD video capability. By improving the version of Flash and AIR, Adobe is looking to stay with a vital technology provider through gaming.
