iWork.com is permanently shutting down on July 31, 2012. iWork.com was launched by Apple back in 2009. And since then iWork services existed in beta. But now after three years, the company has decided to shut down iWork.com.

According to Apple, this is being done because Apple has it’s focus on iCloud, a service that was made live to public in October last year. This is the right thing to do, because iCloud already offers similar functionality as iWork.

It makes it quick and effortless to access just about everything on the devices you use every day. iCloud automatically and securely stores your content so it’s always available to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC. It gives you access to your music, movies, apps, latest photos, and more from whichever device you happen to be using. Apple has started sending out emails to users who had registered for iWork.com beta. They are letting users know that iWork.com will be shut down permanently on July 31, 2011. This is being done because Apple has it’s focus on iCloud, a service that was made live to public in October last year.

Fourth generation cell phones enable wireless mobile communications at a much faster speed than the earlier generations. Let’s trace back the history of wireless communications to know how far mobile technology has progressed.

The history of wireless generations

 4G couldn’t have literally landed itself on us, if there had been no 3G, 2G or 1G. The history reveals the path that wireless technology took, to arrive at the present situation.

1.      First generation or simply G – Cell phones came into the forefront in the 1970s. The 1G cell phones only allowed voice communication. 2.      Second generation or 2G – In 1991, the analog signals were successfully replaced by digital signal processing system, which was first introduced in Finland. 3.      Third generation or 3G – The 3G mobile system allowed high quality voice channels, as well as limited data transmission through broadband.
